Java SRE Technical Lead

Key responsibilities

  • Lead production-support activities for Java and J2EE applications and drive resolution of high-impact technical incidents.
  • Diagnose application, integration, database, API, messaging, and performance issues in complex enterprise environments.
  • Perform Java performance analysis including thread dumps, heap dumps, application debugging, SQL analysis, and root-cause investigation.
  • Lead incident triage, coordinate escalation calls, communicate status, and drive permanent corrective action.
  • Improve monitoring, dashboards, logging, tracing, alerting, runbooks, and service-level operational practices.
  • Mentor engineers and strengthen SRE, reliability, operational governance, and technical-documentation practices.

Required experience

  • 8+ years of experience supporting Java/J2EE applications in enterprise production environments.
  • Strong Java/J2EE development, debugging, performance tuning, thread-dump, and heap-dump analysis experience.
  • Experience with Azure Integration Services, Kafka, Google Apigee, Oracle databases, SQL, and enterprise integration.
  • Hands-on experience with Dynatrace, Splunk, Grafana, PagerDuty, incident management, and on-call support.
  • Strong stakeholder management, written communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred experience

  • Experience with ecommerce, order management, retail, and high-volume transactional systems.
  • Working knowledge of AI-assisted development tools, AI agents, MCP, LangChain, or LangGraph.
